Following is the publication of tools to mod, Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes that allows us to play with the character of Hideo Kojima and some other important tweaks to unlock the limitation of 60 FPS, also change the value of FOV (Field of Vision) and the DOF (Depth of Field).

How to change the FOV Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes:

  1. Download this folder “EZ Tools “, copy the contents into the game directory and run unpack.bat
  2. Go to the folder “/ camera fixes / FOV FIX FILES”
  3. Choose the FOV value that fits your preference
  4. Copy the contents of that folder to “x: \ Metal Gear Solid Ground Zeroes \ data_02 \ Assets \ tpp \ pack \ player \ parts” and replace the files.
  5. Repack Data_02. Enjoy FOV!

How to unlock the FPS Limit of Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes:

Dirty Dan the Steam forums, discovered how to unlock 60FPS limit by modifying the following lines of code:

Make sure to modify the properties of the file to read only after changing the value. You can use the free utility HxD to do so, as shown in the image.

How to remove DOF (Depth of Field):

  1. Download this folder “EZ Tools “, copy the contents into the game directory and run unpack.bat
  2. Go to the folder “/ fixes camera / DOF fix files” and read the file readme.txt
  3. Copy “gr_init_dx11.lua” file in the “x: \ Metal Gear Solid Ground Zeroes \ data_02 \ Fox \ Scripts \ Gr” folder to eliminate the effect of Depth of Field (DOF).
  4. Repack Data_02. Enjoy DOF fix!

Model Swapping in Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes:

Let’s start off easy here with some simple Model swapping via editing the playertypetable.lua

This mod will allow you to play as:
MGS1 Snake “PLTypeMgs1”
Ninja (Grey Fox) “PLTypeNinja”
Raiden “PLTypeRaiden”

1. Navigate to “A:\Steam\SteamApps\common\Metal Gear Solid Ground Zeroes\data_02\Tpp\Scripts\Characters\Player”
2. Right click on “playertypetable.lua” and click open with Notepad++ (if this looks encrypted, go back to the start of tutorial, you have not decrypted this archive.)
3. swap this line ” “PLTypeSneakingSuit”, ” with one of the names from above. ie.(“PLTypeMgs1”)
4. Save the file.
5. Now double click on Repack.bat and load up MGSV:GZ to test your mod.
6. Congrats!
