Mass Effect Andromeda, a new installment in the famous action, sci-fi franchise is all set for release in the coming months and recently, the developers have been providing us with the new details regarding the game.
Last month during the The Game Awards, BioWare unveiled the first 4K trailer of the game that showcased the characters, maps, in-game environment and much more. Since the release of the game is getting close, the developers decided to reveal more information related to the game.
Provided by the reddit user typherio who managed to get the most recent issue of PC Gamer Magazine where developer Bioware discussed about the combats, planets, action and much more.
According to the studio, Mass Effect Andromeda will have three different types of planets such as story planets, exploration planets and more. Moreover, there will be environmental hazards in the planets such as radiation, hot and cool in order to make exploration more exciting. Below are the excerpts taken from the magazine;
- dodge roll has been replaced with a dash, useful for getting from cover to cover, this is conjunction with being able to jump makes for fast mobile combat. you can aim mid-jump to activate a slow hover that is useful for setting up combo’s.
- renegade/paragon system has been replaced with a 4 chat option, head,casual,heart and professional giving me choice in the personality of your ryder.
- there are apparently different types of planets i.e. 1 type is a story planet, this planet is one mainly consisting of open exploration and side quests. Planets also have environmental hazards like those seen in no man’s sky i.e. radiation, too hot and too cold.
- the nomad was partially designed and tested by a small team from need for speed, take this as you will.
There was also another detail regarding the multiplayer horde mode of the game where players will have to choose a class at the beginning of the match, unlike the single player mode where players can freely switch between classes during the gameplay.
Mass Effect Andromeda is scheduled for release on March 21st, 2017 for PC, PS4 and Xbox One. Previously, the game was announced for release during early 2017. Stay tuned for more updates!
