As you know, Intel 8th generation Coffee Lake desktop processors, despite being using LGA1151 socket, will not be officially supported by existing motherboards built on Intel 100 and 200 series chipset. The VideoCardz portal did not wait for the expiry of the non-disclosure agreement and published a list of motherboards based on the top-end Intel Z370 chipset.

Currently, the list includes 25 models of motherboards, the lion’s share of which is produced by ASUS and ASRock. According to sources, the new motherboards will inherit circuit design from older solutions designed to work with Intel Skylake-X and Kaby Lake-X processors. At the same time, part of the new “motherboards” can get support for the old CPU, which will allow the owners of the Intel LGA1151 platform to extend the upgrade to Coffee Lake in several stages.
