LG has declared that it will reveal another 4k UHD TV at CES 2015 in January. Currently nameless model, intriguing in the way that it will make utilization of Quantum Dot tech. Simply more vivid and better viewing angles.

LG Bringing Up 4K TV With New Tech Named As Quantum Dots:

Quantum dots are semi-conductor crystals their size range vary from 2 to 10 nanometers. The color tone of light emitted by a quantum dot when it is energized is dictated by its size. LG says they have included a film of these quantum dots before the LCD back light in their coming UHD TV, the sole purpose of this tech is to enhance the color production rate and to increased vividness.

“Quantum dots provide an amazing super high technology performance enhancement for LCDs through a unique application of quantum physics,” elaborated by Dr. Raymond M. Soneiraof display calibration firm DisplayMate in an article on his organization’s site. “By incorporating them within the backlight, the LCDs then produce highly saturated primary colors that are similar to those produced by OLED displays, plus they also improve the brightness and power efficiency at the same time.”

LG mentioned that this Quantum Dots tech will be utilized to improve the capacities of its In-Plane Switching (IPS) screens. The firm says that that the color producing rate in its IPS screens will be expanded by more than 30 percent VS an ordinary LCD/LED TV.

LG’s 4k Quantum Dot UHD TVs will be on showcase at CES 2015 in Las Vegas from January 6 to 9.
