inXile Entertainment starts the campaign Kickstarter to fund the fourth installment of the popular series The Bards Tale. With a minimum goal of $ 1.25 million, The Bards Tale IV presented labyrinths and dungeons overflowing with traps, puzzles, and challenges, as well as allow us to explore the streets of Skara Brae and the surrounding environments.

The history of this new installment will focus on the new city built on the ruins of the ancient Skara Brae, returning to familiar gameplay concepts as no-take zones Magic and Magic Mouths.

It is another project being developed in the popular Unreal Engine 4, which means a significant leap graphical quality in the series as gender, immersing the player in detail and brilliant worlds, which will force us to explore even the smallest nook.

Supported by this new technical level, inXile plan to use photogrammetry to recreate 3D objects from architectural photos, taken directly from Scotland, as has been done in as many games like The Vanishing of Ethan Carter and expected Star Wars: Battlefront.

The Bards Tale IV also updated the classic gameplay of the original game, with a new combat system based on dynamic phases, which will use the opportunities of complex decisions of the classical system, but constantly evolve the strategy of the enemy.

Brian Fargo, CEO of inXile said about the new campaign:

“It has been incredible over the past 30 years and I feel very fortunate to continue in the game industry for so long. And it is only for the incredible support they have given our fans that I’m still here working on these great RPGs. After many years, I can not be more than thrilled to revive the classic Bard’s Tale. “

The campaign will continue for 38 more days, and probably going to be successful, but during the first 24 hours, will be giving away a choice inXile Wasteland 2, The Witcher and The Witcher 2 for those who contribute $20 or more.
