The new flagship processor is equipped with four cores at Base / Turbo Boost frequency of 4.20 / 4.50 GHz along with 8 MB level 3 (L3) cache with the known HyperThreading technology. The benchmark also confirms that the processor is being used under a platform that uses a new chipset, the Intel Z270, the successor to the existing Z170. Nevertheless, the socket will remains same (LGA1151), so the current Intel 100 series motherboards will be compatible with Kaby Lake CPUs after updating the BIOS.

In Processor Arithmetic test of SiSoft SANDRA 2015 the Intel Core i7-7700K reached 151.94 GOPS, while in the “Processor Multimedia” reached 379.8 Mpix / s. To find out if it’s something good or not, its predecessor, the Intel Core i7-6700K (Skylake) @4.00 / 4.20 GHz, reached 140.88 GOPS in the first test and 353.8 Mpix / s in the second test. This means that the Core i7-7700K is about 7-8% faster than the Core i7-6700k.
