Last night Intel released the first batch of CPUs under Intel 6th generation Codename Skylake, which is features major changes like new manufacturing process of 14nm, the need to use a new socket LGA1151, and its compatibility with the DDR4 memory. At launch Intel has launched the first two CPUs under this architecture, we are talking about the Intel Core i7-6700K and Intel Core i5-6600K.
Intel Skylake Core i7-6700K and Core i5-6600K Along with Z170 Chipset Officially Announced
The Intel Core i7-6700K is the new top-end CPU of company in the mainstream segment, a CPU of four cores with 8 threads (HyperThreading) arriving at a Base / Turbo Boost frequency of 4.00 / 4.20 GHz accompanied of 8 MB cache Level 3 (L3) with graphics Intel HD 530 @ 350/1200 MHz (Base / Boost).

Moreover, the company has announced its new chipset Intel Z170 Express, exclusive motherboards featuring a LGA1151 socket to give life to Intel Skylake. This chipset is aimed at gamers and Overclockers, allowing unlock the CPU multiplier “K” for easy Overclocking. Intel has also introduced a bandwidth DMI chipset to 64 Gbps (32 Gbps per direction), which will help drive the next generation of high speed storage such as SSDs or PCIe M.2. The chipset provides native support NVMe protocol.
Next on the list for us is Intel’s Developer Forum in mid-August. Here Intel has said they will present details on their Skylake architecture and it will hopefully shed some further insight into what is going on under the hood with Skylake. We will have a full write up for you after the event.
