Intel officially announced its 10th Gen Comet Lake-S CPUs, along with the final price and specifications that are virtually the same as those previously leaked. However, in a somewhat unusual way or evasive, Intel shared the first performance tests of its high-end model, the i9-10900K, which has 10 cores and 20 threads with 5.1Ghz turbo and will cost you $488, although thanks to the new Intel Thermal Velocity Boost technology will be able to go up to 5.3Ghz.

According to the blue team, the 10900K is faster than 9900KS and AMD Ryzen 3950X in most of its internal benchmarks. According to Intel, they used the Intel Core i9-10900K, Intel Core i9-9900KS and AMD Ryzen 9 3950X processors, along with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 Ti, 4x8GB DDR4 memory (2666, 2933 or 3200 corresponding to the highest speed allowed by the processor) and an Intel Optane SSD 905P disk running on Windows 10 Pro 1909 v720 19H2 (RS6) version. Following this, the i9-10900K had the best score in most of the more than 25 titles tested.

Intel divided 10th Gen Comet Lake-S CPUs into 10-core Core i9, 8-core Core i7, and 4-core Core i3. The important thing is that the entire Intel Core and Pentium line have HyperThreading enabled. Still, this does not apply to Celeron processors. These new processors will have a thinner chip along with a thicker IHS, which the company says should improve performance and help obtain better temperatures. Also, there will be the Intel Extreme Tuning Utility tool to be able to adjust a control curve for the voltage and frequency of the processors, if possible.
