Both smartphones make use of the new top – end processor of the company, Kirin 955 SoC, a vitamin version of Kirin 950 found in Mate 8 equipped with quad – core Cortex-A72 running at 2.50 GHz while the quad – core Cortex-A53 clock speed is 1.80 GHz.

The auto-focusing is performed by a laser autofocus that with the two chambers get better contrast and better estimation of the depth. The information is completed with a configuration of the dual LED flash which will help to get a better visual quality under low light conditions. Huawei P9 is built around an IPS panel of 5.2-inches to a full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels which gives a density of 423 pixels per inch with a color saturation of 96% with a luminosity that reaches 500 nits. The SoC Kirin 955 is attached to 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage or 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage depending on the variant purchased. In both cases we can expand the capacity via a microSD card.

The information is completed by a battery of 3000 mAh, a USB Type-C port. The 3GB / 32GB version of Huawei P9 will go on sale for 599 euros on 1 May.

Huawei P9 Plus

The most striking fact is that this model uses an AMOLED panel of 5.5 inches with a Full HD resolution including Force Touch Technology, which allows detecting the pressure with which you press the screen. This Huawei P9 Plus is also equipped with the Kirin 955 attached to 4GB of RAM with 64 GB of internal storage backed by a battery of 3400 mAh that relies on fast charging Dual-IC Rapid Charge technology, two chips that allows 10 min charging the phone can provide up to 6 hours of battery life on a call. Another improvement is the inclusion of dual front speaker with stereo audio quality. Its price is 699 euros and will be released on June 1.

Unfortunately, the P9 and P9 Plus feature Huawei’s much maligned “Emotion UI,” a heavy skin for Android that gives it a cartoonish, iPhone-like look that sits at odds with the otherwise classy hardware design.
