The rumors coming from Taiwanese channel announced that the HTC Live will be available for pre-order on 29 February at a price to be around $ 1,500. According to brokers, combine virtual reality with augmented reality means a really high price compared with its rivals. Besides, they add that the HTC Vive will be available with a pair of wireless controllers  (the Oculus Rift only includes the Xbox One Controller) that allow players a level of immersion that cannot be found in any virtual reality glasses.

HTC Vive might be priced above $1500

According to initial reports, due to the high price of virtual reality, it is expected that in 2016 Virtual Reality glasses will only cross the barrier of one million units sold.

The Oculus Rift was launched for $ 599, but excluding customs and tax so it will cost you about $741  in most of the regions. Undoubtedly, with these prices the virtual reality glasses showcase more pain than glory, because it is necessary to add a PC of at least $1,000 to seize them.

The uplifting news in the majority of this, is there is actually a VR headset for every budget. On the low end of the range, Google Cardboard can be manufactured for nothing and Samsung’s Gear VR is under $100. The Oculus Rift bounced to $599 and Sony’s Playstation VR is rumored to have a price tag of between $800-$1,200. Against this background, a $1,500 HTC Vive is basically the most premium in this way.
