The Valve has been among some of the most important names in regard to the world of gaming technology. The company has been innovating various aspects of the market and has been changing the way of functioning the markets.
Half Life 3 would arrive in 2018 with full support for Virtual Reality
The company has launched some of the most famous games in the last two decades – Counter Strike, Half Life, DOTA 2 Portal, Left 4 Dead, Team Fortress 2, Day of Defeat, etc. Valve has also been the name behind Steam. However, the only thing users have been waiting to be announced by Valve over recent years is any information about the possible launch of Half Life 3.
The Half Life series began in 1998, followed by the second game, which was released in two parts, six and eight years after the launch of the first game, in 2004 and 2006. However, in the last ten years and 18 years after the release of the original Half Life, we are still waiting for Half Life 3. According to the latest speculation, Half Life 3 will come out in a format fully adapted to virtual reality and Valve has devoted 1/3 of its work force in game development. It is expected that the release of Half Life 3 comes in the winter of 2018, marking the 20th anniversary of the original Half Life.
Alan Yates, hardware engineer at Valve commented on Reddit:
“I was super fortunate to start at Valve right around the time Michael Abrash had begun the AR/VR research team. It was a much smaller team then than it is now, it has since grown to encompass about a third of the company, but the key individuals that solved most of the really hard technological problems and facilitated this generation of consumer headsets are still here working on the next generation.”
