How suddenly support for Thunderbolt interface 3? All three motherboards have already taken on the laminate appropriate controller, but have not been certified by Intel and so far they were responsible only for USB 3.1 type C (3 Thunderbolt uses the USB connectors type C). Certification connectors came to an end and the manufacturer to issue a new software, just adding support for the latest Thunderbolt.

Thunderbolt 3 offers throughput of 40Gb / s, which allows you to transfer video quality 4K 60 Hz. Another advantage is the ability to connect up to six devices to one port, and the interface is compatible even with the DisplayPort, PCI-Express and USB. The load on the connectors on Gigabyte motherboards is 36W.

The new software is already available for models Z170X-Gaming 7, Z170X-Gaming GT and Z170X-Gaming G1 – you can download them directly from the manufacturer site. It is worth noting that the new interface is also available in the Gigabyte UD5 Z170X-TH.
