Ubisoft’s most recent shooter, the Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands was released last week across all the platforms and turned out to be the biggest launch title of this year so far in the U.K.
According to the data provided by Gfk-chart track, Ghost Recon Wildlands was the best selling game of the last weekend of this year, so far in the U.K., leaving Horizon Zero Dawn behind in second spot at last weekend’s top 10 sales. The Ghost Recon Wildlands is now the biggest launch of this year, ultimately claiming the record which was previously held by Horizon Zero Dawn.
However, this isn’t the Ubisoft’s biggest launch of all time, since Tom Clancy’s The Division still holds the record for the studio’s biggest weekend launch of Q1 of last year in terms of sales. The Ghost Recon Wildlands was released last week and received mixed reviews from the critics and fans. Yet, the title managed to claim the record for biggest launch. While Ubisoft is yet to provide the game’s actual number of units (in millions) shipped so far.
Looking at the top 10 sales, LEGO Worlds secured third and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild secured fourth spot. While all-time famous Grand Theft Auto still holds the fifth position, maintaining its spot from previous charts. The game has been since 2013 for previous-gen consoles and then later for current-gen and PC. This development shows support from the gamers and Rockstar’s commitment towards improving and updating the game.
