Gears of War 4 is another big game headed for release later this year. Firstly, the game was announced for Xbox One and later on, Microsoft confirmed the game for Windows 10 with cross-play and cross-buy support during its E3 2016 press conference.

Gears of War 4 is set 25 years after the last game, featuring JD Fenix as the son of Marcus Fenix who must defeat the army of his enemy. During the recent Gamescom 2016 event, Microsoft revealed the system specifications for the game and also showcased a 4K gameplay footage of the new shooter.

Later on, Chuck Osieja, Creative Director of the game discussed about the use of NVIDIA PhysX for the wind flares in the game in his interview with NGN (Nvidia Gaming Network). During the interview, he said that wind flare is one of the great feature of the game, which is like a big storm that can be started any time and the PhysX helped to make it possible.

It really has a huge impact on gameplay in that it can impact the way the player moves through the environment, but also the projectiles and it brings cover in and out at any one time, so it helped us realize stuff that we probably wouldn’t have been able to do otherwise.

Gears Of War 4 will be released on October 11th for Windows 10 PCs and Xbox One. Game producer at The Coalition studio confirmed that Horde 3.0 demo will be available at the PAX West to try out. The pre-load for the game will be reportedly available from September 13th. Stay tuned for more updates!
