Gears of War 4 is all set for its release next month. During the recent past months, the developers have been updating us with some details related to features added in the game and the story mode as well.
Gears of War 4 was officially confirmed for Windows 10 PCs during Microsoft’s E3 2016 press conference after being reported multiple of times. Later during Gamescom event held last month, Microsoft and The Coalition studio revealed system specifications for the game and first ever 4K gameplay footage showcasing some incredible graphics in the game, thanks to DirectX 12. According to the Developers, Gears of War 4 uses NVIDIA PhysX for the windflares which is one of the essential element in the game. Earlier this month, the studio made Horde mode 3.0 available for try out the fans at PAX West.
During game’s preview event last week, the developers announced that the Gears of War 4 will be having split screen co-op on the PC version. Technical director said that the feature was confirmed after getting lots of fans requests back in March with the Gears of War Ultimate Edition. According to technical director Rayner, it is not an easy job to support split-screen as the developers have to keep up with many units such as focus, user interface placement, aspect ratios and much more. He says that this is the reason behind many games not support split screen co-op as it needs a lot of work from the point of developers.
It was also announced that the game will be supported with cross-network play, allowing Windows 10 and Xbox One gamers to play against each other in multiplayer. Gears of War 4 supports UHD 4K resolution on PC and ultrawide screen as well while yesterday we reported that the game won’t be getting HDR support on PC as not many montiors and display today are HDR enabled.
While the studio also revealed the launch trailer showcasing the legend Marcus Fenix, who will not be back as a playable character. The story revolves around JD Fenic, son of the legend Marcus Fenix along with some villages planning to fight the enemies after narrowly escaping an attack in the vilage. Check out the launch trailer below;
The game is set for release on October 11th for PC and Xbox One.
