Recently, Gears of War 4 developer studio The Coalition announced partnership with the NVIDIA, and the gamers were offered a deal of free Gears of War 4 keys on the purchase of selected NVIDIA graphics cards such as GTX 1070.

Gears of War 4 Keys Obtained Through NVIDIA’s Promotion Revoked by The Coalition

However, the developer studio announced that some of the Gears of War 4 keys obtained from NVIDIA’s promotion have been revoked as according to them, they were ‘obtained illegitimately‘. Adam Fletcher, director of The Coalition studio on the NeoGAF forums announced that they decided to go ahead and revoke some of the game keys which were obtained illegally, according to them and the customers who believe that their keys were revoked incorrectly should contact NVIDIA support for the matter. He said;

We detected some Gears 4 Windows 10 keys were obtained illegitimately via our NVIDIA promotion. We have gone ahead and revoked keys that fell in this bucket. If you believe your key was incorrectly revoked, we highly recommend you contact NVIDIA support with proof of purchase to help out with this.

The term obtained illegitimately refers to the gamers who ordered an NVIDIA graphics card from Amazon and received the Gears of War 4 key on their email. After getting the game key, they cancelled their order from the online store and activated the key on their account or sold it to someone else. This is why the studio asks the gamers to contact NVIDIA support with their proof purchase.

On the other side, it was also announced by the developers that the game will get a day one patch, weighing around 11 GB in size for those who will be getting the physical version of the game. Day one patch is quite normal these days as almost every other game gets a day one patch after its release to fix the bugs, crashes and issues.

Gears of War 4 is scheduled for release on October 11th for Windows 10 PCs and Xbox One. The game has gone gold and entered the phase of discs manufacturing. Stay tuned for more updates!
