Microsoft and Team 10 announced the release date for the open beta of free-to-play edition of Forza Motorsport 6, entitled Apex, which will be available on May 5 for all users of Windows 10.

The beta will be single-player only, presenting the new Showcase Tour mode with 12 events, coupled with the unique events of the Spotlight series, which is regularly updated.

There will be Xbox Live achievements for up to 1000 gamerscore points, along with a new career points system to encourage players to disable assists, with the aim of improving their skills.

The beta will feature 53 cars, with 20 circuit configurations across six locations, including nights and rainy weather variations.

Of course, Forza Motorsport 6: Apex will support DirectX12 and 4k resolutions. However, support for steering wheels, as an option to disable the V-sync and implementation to support FPS software will be implemented soon. The latter can be done with the latest version of Dxtory, already tested in games like Quantum Break.

At the moment, Apex does not include a multiplayer portion or Livery Editor Guide. However, Microsoft said a Livery Editor of the Forza community will be added through an update.
