According to the reports, Epic Games have enabled cross-platform play feature for the co-op survival title Fortnite between the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One lately.

Availability of such feature is confirmed by many players, although Sony was not in favor of this feature in the past and that too with the Xbox one. However, the recent update has added the feature according to reddit users.

It was originally spotted by redditer PRE_-CISION-_ who spotted a suspicious gamer tags with space during the gameplay. Since gamer tags with spaces are impossible to create on PS4 and it was the reason that led the players to find out that it was the tag playing from Xbox One console.

Some people thought that it maybe a player online from a PC as cross-platform play is available between consoles and PC, but a video and screenshots started appearing online where the Xbox One version was being playing. Apart from that, one report also confirmed a father and a son playing Fortnite from Xbox One and PS4 respectively.

The redditer has attached some images and footages as a source of proof of the cross-platform play between two consoles. This is perhaps first time since the availability of both the consoles and no one saw that coming.

Microsoft has been in talks with Sony since last year with the aim to implement cross-platform play between both the consoles and PC but apparently Sony didn’t liked the idea and turned down the proposal instead for their privacy concerns. The studio is still in talks and lets hope that we get some good news in the near future.

Fortnite is now available on PC, PS4, Mac Os and Xbox One. Stay tuned for more updates!
