The announcement was made by game producer during his recent interview with Nintendo Everything at the Gamescom 2017. During the interview, he said that they spent some time to actually understand the development for this new hybrid console and after a while, they managed to figure out how things will work with the Switch.

He said, “In dock, what we’re seeing right now, for example, is 1080p run running at 60 frames per second. When you plug out and you play in handheld it’s 720p”, Furthermore, he also explained why the game runs at 720p with the portable mode as according to him, they spent a lot more time to optimize the title with the portable mode and get smooth gameplay with the 60 FPS.

“We spent a lot of time making sure that transition happens seamlessly and you still get 60 frames per second”.
