The number of competitors (mostly potential) for platform YouTube are growing from month to month. But perhaps the real alternative already exists and is becoming increasingly popular among many players. If YouTube did not come with the competitive strategy, then Facebook will be turned into one of the best places to watch, publish and share videos on the Internet.
Facebook is the first real challenger to YouTube
Over the last year, the number of published video per person increased by 75 percent throughout the world. Users watching now over a billion videos every day. What’s more – more than half of the visitors to Facebook people watching on the at least one clip per day and 76 percent of users in America claim they now use the social network to discover new videos and most of them also download videos via Download video from Fb and share them on different social media platforms too.
Why we would see Facebook as a competitor to YouTube platform? Mainly due to its promotion properties. Videos as posts go directly to the user (such as subscriptions) and at the same time very easy to comment, “like” and share with your friends. And while Facebook is not seen as a platform totally videos oriented so maybe YouTube gets little afraid. Self-promotion aside, Facebook could very well be poised to become the first major threat that YouTube has seen to date.
