Hybrid cooling for graphics cards is becoming more and more popular. Recently I have written about the model Inno3D GeForce GTX 980 iChill Black, and now the company EVGA has presented a similar design.

EVGA GeForce GTX 980 with a hybrid cooling

GeForce GTX 980 HYBRID

This refers to the model GeForce GTX 980 HYBRID, which uses a standard structure – the heat from the GPU pays compact liquid cooling system with a single cooler and memory chips and the power section are cooled with the radiator blows through the turbine. On the reverse side of the PCB there is backplate.

According to the manufacturer’s test with a hybrid cooling, card reaches a temperature of about 44 degrees Celsius, while the reference model of up to 70 degrees Celsius. Another advantage is the low noise level, but do not know the details about it.

On board there is a Maxwell GM204 graphics processor with 2048 CUDA cores, whose frequencies are raised to the 1291/1393 MHz. In addition, it uses 4 GB of GDDR5 memory with 256-bit standard 7010 MHz frequency.

There was given a standard set of video outputs, DVI-I, HDMI 2.0 and DisplayPort 1.2 3x.

Specifications EVGA graphics card GeForce GTX 980 HYBRID:

  • Core: Maxwell GM204
  • Stream Processors: 2048
  • Core clock: 1291/1393 MHz
  • Video Memory: 4 GB GDDR5 256-bit
  • Memory clock speed: 7010 MHz
  • Power connectors: 2x 6-pin
  • Video Output: DVI-I, HDMI 2.0, 3x DisplayPort 1.2
  • Cooling: Hybrid

EVGA GeForce GTX 980 HYBRID is not cheap, because it costs 779 euros. Below you can see the unboxing of card.
