Electronic Arts has revealed that there will be no new Battlefield in the next year. This is known because of the last meeting of EA’s chief financial officer, Blake Jorgensen with investors of the company.

Now Battlefield Game in 2017, says EA

Battlefield 1

According to Jorgensen, the Battlefield franchise will rest for a couple of years to focus on the development of the new Star Wars Battlefront. Therefore, it is confirmed that in 2017 we will have a new Battlefront, this means in theory we would not see a new Battlefield until 2018 or 2019.

“We were really working with the old canvas of Star Wars, the old trilogy. We weren’t using any of the new materials that came out of [Episode 8] because our game actually came out slightly before the movie,” Jorgensen said. “Next year we’ll have the opportunity to leverage more of that content from the new movies and we think that’ll make the opportunity much larger.”

Blake Jorgensen has said and promised that Star Wars Battlefront 2 will be much bigger and much more exciting than the first installment, and will include content of new films in order to reach a larger number of players. In addition, he responded to criticism received on the first delivery of the Battlefront by saying that “And so we’re taking that criticism to heart as we build the next game and trying to address any of the issues that they had.”
