According to DRAMeXchange, in 2018 we will see a reduction in the price of DRAM memories, among others, thanks to Samsung’s increase production, which would be 20%.

The DRAM memory is drowning us all and the prices are a real madness and the forecast for the rest of the year is not good, it is possible that it continues to rise, until next year. Samsung could expand the production of DRAM memories next year, thanks to the expansion of two plants located in South Korea. From DRAMeXchange, we receive very good news, although we will take it with caution, as always. It seems that during the next year we will see an increase in the production of RAM, something undoubtedly positive.

DRAMeXchange has stated that an increase of 22.5% in the production of memories is expected, a much higher figure than this year’s increase, which was 19.5%. In the report of prices, a very detailed study has been carried out, showing a 130 % price increase in this year. It has been seen how it has gone from $ 13 for each module of 4GB in the second quarter of 2016 to $ 30 for each module of 4G in the third quarter of 2017.

One of the current problems is that the smartphones use more and more DRAM modules to make the functions of RAM and ROM, for gaming a minimum of 6GB is needed. The SSDs are stagnating in terms of capacity (1Tb and 2Tb). Samsung will increase its production by 20% by the end of next year, just as the increase of SK Hynix and Micron will come, so that by the end of 2018 and the beginning of 2019, prices will stabilize and decrease, but slowly.
