A couple of weeks ago, we reported that Bethesda and id Software have officially confirmed its popular shooting game DOOM for Nintendo Switch and recently, the publisher revealed some new piece of information related to the game’s resolution on the hybrid console.

A few hours ago, Bethesda’s representative confirmed the game resolution for Nintendo Switch to Rolling Stones where it was announced that DOOM will be running on 720p for both the modes, Dock and Portable.

According to the studio’s spokesperson, playing on Dock or Portable mode hardly shows any difference in graphics and the difference which is usually noticed is mainly due to the screen size. While the game will run at locked solid 30 fps on the Switch.

Locking frames to 30 fps will ensure better gameplay experience and the community’s feedback suggest that game looks pretty amazing on the Switch. Below is the official statement from the publisher;

“The game and rendering technology underlying Doom is extremely scalable. In bringing Doom to Switch, we targeted outstanding visuals at a solid 30 fps and by maintaining a consistent 30 fps, the experience remains consistently fluid and smooth. We’ve been thrilled with the feedback that Doom is among the very best looking and performing games on Switch.”

Furthermore, it was also clarified that the game’s campaign and arcade mode will be included in the game’s cartridge while the multiplayer mode must be downloaded separately, which is sized around 9 GB.

DOOM is now available on PC, PS4 and Xbox One and id Software is working on the 2016 edition of the game for Nintendo Switch port. Stay tuned for more updates!
