As it was previously confirmed that the Diable 3 Seasons will be available on the PC exclusively. But in recent interview with IGN, the game producer at Blizzard, Rob Foote hinted that the consoles might also get the Seasons of Diablo 3. He said, “…something we need to re-evaluate again“.
The initial feeling was with consoles, because of the way it’s set up, it can’t support leaderboards and the online community isn’t the same – there’s a lot more playing with friends on a couch rather than in a general community – but it is something we recognise that a lot of players have given us the feedback in the last year. Sometimes Seasons aren’t really about the leaderboard, but having a fresh start, experiencing the game again and feeling like you’re part of a larger community than yourself where the excitement around Diablo is there. So I think maybe that’s something we need to re-evaluate again. We’ll probably go back and revisit that decision.
The Seasons feature in Diablo 3 allows players to create a new character so they can use it throughout the season. Players can also be granted the access to exclusive drops, leaderboards, and achievements. Rob Foote didn’t mentioned that the Diablo 3 will be available for consoles in coming months but he just said that they might consider or re-thing over this.
Also a new patch for the game named update 2.3.0 is on its way bringing new difficulty options, better crafting as compared with current one and much more. Its currently under development and may be rolled out real soon. Stay tuned for more!
