From Software’s Dark Souls III beta client is now available to download for all PS Plus subscribers in North America. It will be available only on PS4 and will begin on October 16. Access to the beta will not be granted until then. Though the game servers have yet to go live. If you boot the game now, you will get the following message:

You can download the Dark Souls III Network Stress Test Client through the PSN store. The file size is 3.062GB to be exact.

The main testing features have been outlined as follows:

  • Server stress tests
  • Multiplayer gameplay tests
  • Improvements towards game balancing/tuning

There will also be a multiplayer mode available. In multiplayer, there will be a total of 5 players in each game.

Dark Souls III will be coming out on March 24, 2016 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in Japan. Release date for PC is yet to be announced by Namco Bandai.
