MDHR Studio today announced that its first title Cuphead, the most expected indies for this year postponed to mid 2017. The reason behind this delay is to polish the game. The Canadian brothers Chad and Jared Moldenhauer (the only developers), said that they are not intended to compromise their first release, and for this they need time to polish every detail in the game.

Cuphead presents a 1930s cartoon graphic style, mixed with a strong emphasis on boss fights and gameplay inspired by games like Contra, Gunstar Heroes and platform arcade era of 16 bits.

Cuphead is defined as a “run and gun” game that do focus on 1 vs 1 (or 2vs1) fighting. The developer studio aims to evolve the genre by adding new features such as: new super powers, infinite lives, a large map and many secrets.

Chad Moldenhauer (Director) revealed that you can purchase a variety of items from the shop of the game, before the fight against the bosses. If all goes according to plan, Studio MDHR says Cuphead will overcome the “Guinness World Record for Most Boss Battles in a Run and Gun Game“. Cuphead will have between 10 and 15 bosses per episode and development studio plans to exceed it.

Cuphead will be launched in mid-2017 on Steam, Windows 10 and Xbox One.
