Good news for Crytek and its employees, because after being virtually bankrupt with many employees who have not been paid for several months. Now in order to restructure the studio, the Turkish government will be investing $500 million into the German development studio. This announcement was made official on December 24 by means of Binali Yildirim, the Prime Minister of Turkey, without naming Crytek.

Binali Yildirim said that three brothers living in Germany “who own a leading company in the gaming sector, were planning to invest in Turkey during his speech at the “Turkey’s 500 Large Service Exporters” ceremony“. The three brothers in  this statement are Cevat, Avni and Faruk Yerli, who founded Crytek in 1999. Crytek is well known for their awesome graphics work in Ryse: Son of Rome and other titles.

This is great news, and more after it became known that the creators of Star Citizen the developer of Star Citizen, announced their shift away from CryEngine to Amazon’s Lumberyard technology – which is also based on CryEngine.
