A few days ago, we had informed that the new build of Cemu Wii U by Patreon, the sensational emulator of Wii U adds a new graphic pack that will allow to adjust graphic options such as internal resolution, shadows, post-processing and anti-aliasing. This new version 1.70 comes with some pre-installed packs (whether for 720p, 1080p or 4K).

The process is difficult to pull off on a Wii U, which is capable of rendering at a maximum of 1080p. In order to get the 4K output, the developers behind Cemu have to literally patch the game code itself or “implement game-specific hacks” into the system.

The mentioned build is now available for those who are donors of the project (to the public will be released on January 16), that is why one of them has recorded several gameplay videos in 4k resolution of Bayonetta 2, Xenoblade Chronicles X, Mario Kart 8 and Super Mario 3D, Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker Gameplay and New Super Mario Bros.
