With the recent celebration of the GamesCom 2018, we have seen some advancement in various industry titles, among which are the more than expected Cyberpunk 2077, the game developed by the CD Projekt RED studio. A few days ago we saw 48 minutes in the form of gameplay and now the development team has also decided to give some additional details about the creative process behind one of the most important and most anticipated video games of recent years.

According to a series of statements offered by Maciej Pietras, the head of animation and Cinematics for Cyberpunk 2077, this game “is being a challenge”, referring to the great work involved in the process of optimizing the performance of the title. CD Projekt RED affirms that the title “began to be optimized from the beginning”, something necessary for a large number of equipment of different specifications to run the game.

They also communicated that optimization is one of the most important parts of the creative work of the whole process, something very necessary if we consider that the gameplay demonstration was running on a computer with equipped with an i7-8700K processor coupled with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080Ti, something that not all users have.

” We know we’re making a game for PC, PS4 and Xbox One. That’s why we decided to work on optimization from the beginning in the most correct way . We have thought about it since the very beginning of the game, and in the way in which the streaming of elements works, and in how we could use a constant global lighting, for example, without the CPU overflowing for such amount of work ” .
