Developed by WayForward Technologies for Nintendo Wii nearly six years ago, A Boy and His Blob is now coming to PC,PS4, Xbox One and Vita on 19 of this month. A Boy and His Blob is a reimagining of the similarly titled NES classic. The release will see a resolution of 1080p running at 60 frames per second.

A Boy and His Blob is a 2D platform puzzle game, where the two main characters progress through various levels with various obstacles. The protagonist feeding the blob with candy lozenges to transform it into one of 15 different items that can be used to solve puzzles and defeat enemies.

Unlike the NES version, where only the taste of sweet tablet was shown, the new version offers a menu showing each transformation. The blob can be reversed to its original shape, and may be ordered to keep the child or stay in place. The child will die if he touches an enemy or other hazard, or if it falls from a great height.

A Boy and His Blob will be released on PC, Xbox One, Playstation Vita Playstation 4 on January 19.The Dutch studio Abstraction Games will be in charge of the port.
