Earlier this year, BioShock The Collection was surfacing over the internet, after the 2K Games officially confirmed the remastered collection back in June.
BioShock The Collection includes remastered versions of all the three games, i.e., BioShock, BioShock 2 and BioShock: Infinite for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One while only the first two installments in the franchise were remastered for the PC version. The Collection got released back on Friday, September 16th worldwide and according to the reports, the remastered collection is suffering from issues such as bugs, limited graphics options, and much more.
As per the report published by RockPaperShotgun, the BioShock and BioShock 2 are missing several graphics options like texture, shadows and some others from the settings menu, while options of resolution, anti-aliasing, V-sync and anisotropic filtering are available. Comparing with the original games, these are limited and less options. While on the other hand, players on reddit forums and Steam have reported some issues and bugs such as frame rate stuttering, game crashing, control and sound issues which were also present during the release of the original game.
While some Steam gamers claim that the game has only been retextured, while all the other things are almost similar with the original game. While other issues such as mouse smoothing, no support for 5.1 surround sound, difficulty resets were also reported.
Despite the issues, reddit users have managed to find out the workarounds for some of the issues. As mentioned before, BioShock The Collection is free for those who own the original game. We’ll see how developers respond and when will they release patches to fix the reported issues. Stay tuned for more updates!
