DICE’s latest installment in the famous shooter franchise, Battlefield 1 received a new update entitled as ‘Winter Update’ a few of hours ago today, adding a couple of new content in the game. The update is sized around 1.54 GB on PC and somewhere under 2 GB for the consoles.
DICE have detailed the Battlefield 1 Winter update on their blogs which added a plenty of stuff to the game, including the famous ribbons, which were awarded to the players after accomplishing certain tasks in the previous Battlefield games.
The update introduces new system for earning more XP and also increased the class rank cap from 10 to 50 along with some changes in the UI and gameplay, i.e, allowing players to vote for the map during their match. The update also brought new vehicles, weapons, changes in game’s rent a server program and also a plenty of bug fixes.
The studio also revealed more information regarding the upcoming Battlefield 1 expansion pack They Shall Not Pass, which will introduce the game’s French army. According to the studio, there will be new operations and a new elite class called as Trench Raider alongside the new vehicles, maps and much more detailed by the studio a couple of weeks ago.

MAJOR UPDATE: ELITE CODICES
- It is now possible to unlock an Elite Codex for eight of the available primary weapons in the game. All you need to do is get 500 more kills per applicable weapon. Not only will you get a shiny Elite Codex, but you will also be awarded 25,000 bonus XP. Not bad when you’re chasing those new Class Ranks.
MAJOR UPDATE: CLASS MAX RANKS
- The new max Class Rank will now be 50. At every 10 new Class Ranks you’ll receive a Battlepack, and when you hit 50, you will be granted some extra nice Class flair in the kill card to taunt your fallen foes. There will also be Dog Tags that you can unlock as you progress towards max Class Rank 50.
