Asus announced the launch of its first ROG Strix notebook, Strix is more common in the graphics cards and peripheral segment. We are talking about the Asus ROG Strix GL502 which will be available in two variants. Featuring an IPS panel of 15.6 inches, here you can choose a resolution of Full HD (Strix GL502VT) or 4K (Strix GL502VY). The other differences are also found in the processors used: Core i7-6700HQ @ 3.50 GHz and Core i7-6820HK @ 3.60 GHz, dimensions 390 x 266 x 23.5 mm thick Vs 390 x 266 x 30.1 mm and a weight of 2.24 and 2.34 kg respective form.
Asus ROG GL502 Strix: The first gaming laptop of Strix series
The specifications of the Asus ROG GL502 Strix are complemented by the ability to choose 4GB / 8GB / 16GB DDR4 RAM memory, supported by NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980M mobility GPU with 8GB of GDDR5 memory, an SSD M.2 256GB / 512GB more HDD up to 2TB 2.5 “and other SSD M.2 although 128GB / 256GB, offers two display outputs in the form of HDMI 1.4 and Mini DisplayPort 1.2, USB 3.1 Type-C, three USB 3.0 port, and use Windows 10 OS. Price and availability in the market not announced of both items.
The software Asus provides for this Windows laptop is meant to make gaming easier, too. The ROG Gaming Center provides a single dashboard for finding system information, setting up hotkeys, adjust audio settings, and recording gameplay. The Asus GameFirst III utility lets users enable network traffic shaping for better network utilization with four preset modes: “optimization,” “game,” “media streaming,” and “file sharing.” Asus didn’t discuss pricing or availability for this bird-of-prey.
