Today we have the Asus Maximus VIII Extreme, flagship motherboard of the company based on LGA1151 socket and Intel Z170 chipset. From the first look we can see that the socket is strongly cooled and no wonder, since it will run around nothing less than a VRM 16 phase power VRM design, being necessary to give life through a connector 24 pins ATX, an EPS of 8-pin ATX and 4-pin.

The socket is attached to four DDR4 DIMM slots, four PCI-Express 3.0 x16 slots and two PCIe x1. In terms of storage we will find an SFF-8639 connector U.2 (32 Gbps), two SATA-Express (16 Gbps), and eight SATA III 6.0 Gbps. WiFi 802.11ac connectivity, Bluetooth 4.0 and Gigabit Ethernet (all signed by Intel). The information is completed with a new sound card SupremeFX accompanied by a front panel which is situated in a bay of 5.25 “ which include all audio controls. At the moment Asus has not revealed the price of Maximus VIII Extreme.
