Android ended the second quarter of 2016 with an impressive market share of no less than 86.2 percent, an increase of 4 percent compared to the share achieved during the same period last year (82.2%). One reason is due to the sale of low cost smartphones. The arrival of high – end devices becoming cheaper, they have also helped to increase market share.

During the third quarter, total smartphone sales increased by 4.3 percent over last year reaching the 344 million units. Android running devices plays important role in emerging markets.
If we take the information from operating systems view, iOS at second place with a respectable 12.9 percent share thanks to the Apple iPhone device, but if you compare with the last year, iOS have lost a market share of 1.7%. Third is Windows with 0.6%. BlackBerry practically disappears with 0.1%, and other operating systems (Tizen, Mozilla, Ubuntu, etc.) account for 0.2 %.
