According to Taiwan’s supply chain traders, AMD will release Godavari series APUs in order to compete with Intel Broadwell and Skylake platform.

According to sources, AMD will release these candies in 2016 by Samsung and Globalfoundries joint production of Summit Ridge APUs, which also includes Bristol Ridge mainstream products. When we talk about long term plans AMD will release Raven Ridge series APUs in 2017.

Features of Godavari will include up to four ‘Steamroller’ cores, Radeon graphics based upon the GCN 1.1 architecture with up to 512 stream processors, a dual-channel DDR3 memory controller and HSA. The most disappointed thing is that, Godavari series APUs will be manufactured on the 28nm process node. AMD has also ordered USB3.1 controller chip from Taiwan ASMedia and allowed to be adapted with AMD chipset, released in September.

Till now AMD has not commented on this statement.
