AMD will be too busy in the early next month, in addition to the shipping of just released Radeon R9 285 Graphics Card which is equipped with newest Tonga Core, as well as AMD has also lowered the prices of their FX chips and APUs. Trinity strategy in silence for a long time and now chipset also got some new actions which is ready to be implemented, AMD will launch an upgraded version of A58 Chipset named as A68H chipset, the original A58 chipset does not support USB 3.0 and SATA 6Gbps interface, the upgraded version A68H Chipset will cost only $2 higher than A58 Chipset, do not know which vendors are going to push new Motherboards.
AMD to launch A68H chipset in September: Support 2 USB 3.0 interface
The current mainstream socket for AMD Socket FM2 + is backward compatible to FM2, Chipsets including A78, A88X. But before the A68 and A58 chipset, although the price is lower and more welcomed by the motherboard manufacturers, but there is no USB 3.0 interface with it, vendors with the third-party solution will also enhance the cost, at that time AMD realizes that they need a Low-Cost chipset which also supports USB 3.0. So now they come with the solution.
AMD is now ready to launch A68H chipset in September of this year, Codename Bolton-D2H, in 2012 the A68 chipset is actually with a Bobcat ULV processor, so this D2H is the major replace of Bolton-D2’s A58 chipset, the main change is the increase of two USB 3.0 chipset, which has been recognized as an official document. At the same time, compared to the A58 chipset 3Gbps SATA interface, A68H also supports four SATA 6Gbps interface.
Compared to Code Bolton-D 3, D4 of the A78, A88X chipset, A68H on USB 3.0 and SATA 6Gbps interface complements the A58 defects, of course, after the number of interfaces are not good but still we can see improvement. The price is also seems the real candy, only $2 higher than the A58 chipset, this will help the manufacturers to launch A68H chipset based Motherboard with Lower price.
