AMD announced the launch of its Radeon Vega Frontier, the first VEGA silicon graphics card to hit the market, but unfortunately aimed at the professional sector, not being designed or conceived for gamers.
AMD Radeon Vega Frontier goes on sale for $ 999
This GPU makes use of the full VEGA 10 silicon, which translates into 4096 Stream Processors together with 64 ROPs at a maximum frequency of 1600 MHz (Turbo Freq) coupled with 16 GB of HBM2 @ 1,882 MHz memory and a memory of 2048 bits, gives us a bandwidth of 483 GB / s (vs. 512GB of the Radeon R9 Fury X) with a FP32 computational performance of 13.1 TFLOPs (vs. 8.6 TFLOPs).
According to AMD official tests, its GPU is up to 69 percent faster than the NVIDIA Titan Xp in SPECVIEWERF 12.1 – Solidworks with an average of 34% faster. Independent testing also reveals the great performance advantage on this GPU, although all those softwares favored AMD.
The AMD Radeon Vega Frontier comes at a starting price of $ 999 (about 1,199 euros in exchange) compared to the current 1,289 euros for NVIDIA TITAN Xp, while the water cooled version will be released in the third quarter of this year at a recommended price of $ 1,499 (about 1,799 euros).
