Without any surprise, AMD announced the launch of its new line of Ryzen Threadripper PRO processors, which are unrivaled thanks to offering up to 64 cores and 128 processing threads under the Zen2 @ 7nm microarchitecture, 128x PCI-Express 4.0 lines and supporting up to 2 TB of DDR4 RAM through an Octa (8) -Channel controller.

“AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO processors are designed to set the new industry standard for professional workstation / workstation performance,” said Saeid Moshkelani, senior vice president and general manager, customer business unit at AMD.

AMD is quite clear with its new release, as it indicates that it offers up to 2.5x more bandwidth compared to the Dual CPU system of its competition, in addition to supporting up to twice the RAM memory (2 TB), compared to its competition, obviously Intel. These CPUs can use ECC RDIMM, LRDIMM, and DDR4 @ 3200 MHz UDIMMs.
