AMD Launches FirePro W9100 with 32GB of memory GDDR5
The AMD FirePro W9100 is powered by fully enabled version of the Hawaii GPU core, which translates to 2816 Stream Processors running at 930 MHz with the 176 Texture Units being manufactured by TSMC under 28nm throwing a TDP of 275W (2x PCIe 6 – pin + 8). This time accompanied by no less than 32 GB of GDDR5 memory, to which is added a power of 2 teraflops in double precision calculations. This means a performance of 5 teraflops for a simple decimal (float). The FirePro W9100 comes to compete with the NVIDIA Quadro K5000.
The known features are completed with the support of six output screen via Mini-DisplayPorts, being specially designed to work with up to 6 screens under a resolution of 4K. Its price could be around 5,000 USD.
