In an announcement by AMD CEO, the company has announced its earnings for the fourth quarter of year 2014 and the results are not at all good. AMD in Q4 2014 fell by 22% over the same period last year. The $1.43 billion that the Californian company had bagged in 2013 became a “mere” $ 1.23 million last year.

It is very early to say what are consequences of this sharp drop in profits for AMD. So far only rumors indicate that they are working hard on their next family of GPUs (R9 3xx) and we will be able to see the light in mid 2015. Perhaps a successful new lineup of video cards is what AMD needs to level up the finances.
