Celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Metro series, publisher Deep Silver and developer 4A Games today announced that they will release Metro Exodus enhanced version for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series in 2021. The enhanced version of Metro Exodus for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series will include “major enhancements”, such as higher frame rates, higher resolution, reduced load times, and ray tracing support. Users who own Metro Exodus for PlayStation 4 or Xbox One, either physical or digital, will be able to upgrade to the PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series version for free.

4A Games also confirmed new Metro game, which was first confirmed in August 2019 and is currently in development for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and PC with a “full engine overhaul [from 4A Games] and the engine of rendering to take advantage of the RayTracing with support of hardware, storage and power that offer the new consoles ”

While the studio wasn’t able to share much more about the upcoming Metro game at this point, it confirmed that it is exploring a multiplayer component.

“We are committed to delivering a great story-driven single player experience; this is what the Metro series is based on, ”the study said. “As a studio, we want to constantly strive to create bigger and better games, but we also listen to what fans are saying and we know what is important to them. We take our responsibility to the franchise very seriously and we think you will be excited about our plans for the next chapter. “

The studio added that it does not necessarily seek to join the multiplayer trend, but rather wants to explore a multiplayer experience that “makes sense in the Metro universe” and does not “hurt ambitions for single player.” And that requires a dedicated team focused solely on multiplayer, something your partnership with Saber Interactive can offer.

Finally, while 4A Games hopes to work on the Metro series for “many years to come,” the studio claims it wants to create a new intellectual property and “AAA experience” that can accompany the Metro series, and they are currently hiring for Malta and Kyiv Studies to realize those ambitions.
